Binaural sound testing
For my upcoming VR en-devours I decided to watch a few tutorials on how to employ binaural sound within the game engine Unity.
Utilizing Steam VR, VRTX and Googles SDK I was able to create a demo scene where I focused the sound into a square.
After enabling occlusion and the GVR audio listener I was able to move around in the scene with my Vive and hear the sound from one focused point.
This is a brilliant aspect to increase that immersion, to hear sound from a focused perspective definitely increases the aspects of escapism the spectator will feel in their virtual environment.
It worked really well, its results were very effective, I will definitively trail what I have learnt within my Cop2 practical environments.
